Hey everyone, I'm Jake Schilling.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in Missoula, MT, where my love of fly fishing began on the Bitterroot, Blackfoot, and Clark Fork rivers.
In 2012 I dropped out of college to move to West Yellowstone and work for Madison River Outfitters. After a couple summers of guiding walk trips, I bought an old Clacka LP and moved on to the full-time guide staff. Most years I'm guiding 100+ days a year and exploring the rest of Montana with my downtime.
While it's hard to go wrong with any fishery in the West Yellowstone area, the Madison River will always be my top choice due to its beauty and diversity of applicable fly fishing techniques.
Whether it's swinging a Spey rod in Yellowstone National Park, throwing hoppers on Quake Lake, or high-sticking through the Slide's pockets, my local knowledge, patience, and teaching abilities are a great fit for any angler.
Let's go fishing!
